Dermal Fillers

Radiesse™ is a next-generation cosmetic filler used in the treatment of deep lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth – including smile lines, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds. Radiesse is also an exceptional “plumper” that can be used to replace lost facial volume from weight loss or the normal aging process. Radiesse cosmetic filler contains small microspheres (particles) suspended in a gel-like solution. There is no need for an allergy test prior to Radiesse filler injections since the microspheres are comprised of calcium hydroxyapatite, a substance naturally found in the body.

Dermal Fillers

For the first three months after Radiesse treatment, it acts as a cosmetic filler, plumping up the skin and diminishing age lines. Then, Radiesse microspheres stimulate natural collagen growth, actually causing new tissue development for extended results (up to two years). In addition, Radiesse is useful in the treatment of facial lipoatrophy (a stigmatizing effect of HIV), vocal cord deficiencies, oral and maxillofacial defects, as well as scars and chin dimples.

Radiesse is an excellent filler that is usually placed deep in the skin next to bone. It often is placed to lift your own tissues thereby providing a very natural look. Do not be afraid of this explanation because with an excellent injector, one would not know the difference between a shallow injection and a deep one. It is always fine to ask your Nurse or physician injector about a specific product but if you are in the hands of an experienced injector, you should accept their product advice as they are, most often, the ones that know what to do in order to achieve your desired outcomes.

Juvederm is one of the fastest growing, non-surgical aesthetic procedures in the United States. Because more patients want quick procedures that show almost immediate results with little or no downtime, Juvederm has become extremely popular with consumers. Made of a natural substance known as hyaluronic acid, Juvederm is FDA approved.

Dermal Fillers

Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acids. All the different names of the products (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, etc.) are a result of different amounts of the molecules being in the mixture and the company that is making the product. Each molecule of sodium hyaluronate can hold 1,000 times its own molecular weight in water so these products work by drawing water to the area. Think of what happens when you drop a dry sponge into a bowl of water….it swells up, right? This is how hyaluronic acid products increase volume in the skin; by drawing water to the area.

The reason that there are different names for this group of fillers and the reason the price is different is based upon the company that makes them and the NUMBER of molecules of sodium hyaluronate that is in the syringe. The more lift or volume you need, the more molecules are needed to support that tissue. Think about it…cheeks will take a lot more volume and need more bulk than lips which you would want to be soft and natural.

As you age, it's not just about lines and wrinkles. Your cheeks can lose volume and skin may begin to sag. JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC is the first and only FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to your cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over age 21.

It can provide you a contour and subtle lift that lasts up to two years (with optimal treatment).

BELOTERO BALANCE® is a prescription injection that is approved to temporarily smooth out and fill in moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). One of the most important factors in choosing a filler treatment is understanding how it works. Over time, our skin begins to lose naturally occurring components such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid (HA), leaving skin more prone to develop etched-in lines and wrinkles. BELOTERO BALANCE® is a hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable filler that completely integrates into the skin tissue.

A-PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn and the red cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma. Since the Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (A-PRP) is processed form the patient's own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection. With a simple, quick and advantageous process, your PRP professional is able to derive a high concentration of biological nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma.
